Wolf Pack Welcome

Get Ready For Wolf Pack Welcome

We are excited to welcome you to campus August 21-23, 2020 for Wolf Pack Welcome! Wolf Pack Welcome is a three-day program to kick off the Fall semester for the newest members of the Pack! There are a variety of programs and events to help you prepare for classes, meet other incoming students, participate in Loyola traditions, and more. Some programming includes New Student Convocation, keynote speakers discussing social justice, sexual assault, fun late night socials and so much more! Wolf Pack Welcome is mandatory for all first year students, both residential and commuter. However, if for COVID related reasons, a student would like to be excused from Wolf Pack Welcome, please email orientation@loyno.edu. We will be providing virtual opportunities for students to be involved in during Wolf Pack Welcome if they prefer.  Please see below for more information.

Printed Schedule & Check-In: A printed copy of the schedule will be included in the welcome
packet that you will receive once you check-in to your Residence Hall. Want to go the paperless route
to view the schedule? Download our guide on Guidebook here! On this app, you will be able to see
who Krewe Leader is, where your Krewe will meet, your meal pick up location, map of campus, New
Student Resource Guide, important documents and much more! We will also be sending you
messages in real time via the app.
You will check-in for Wolf Pack Welcome at your first Krewe
meeting on August 21.

Commuter Students: You will receive your welcome packet, including a hard copy of the schedule
and a mask, at your first Krewe Leader meeting. Make sure to download the Guidebook app to find
your Krewe meeting location.

Masks: Included in your welcome packet, will be a Loyola branded mask. Loyola requires all
individuals to wear a face mask covering their nose and mouth at all times except when that
individual is alone (e.g. personal residence hall rooms). This includes all activities during Wolf Pack
Welcome.

Social Distancing: Throughout Wolf Pack Welcome and the Fall semester, we will be practicing 6
ft. social distancing. Social distancing markers must be followed (e.g., 6-foot markers for food lines,
capacity limits for elevators, signs requiring use of certain stairwells in a particular direction, etc.).
All daytime programming will be conducted according to Krewe groups. For more information on

If you will be driving to campus, please visit the Maps & Directions site for detailed information on how to access campus. Parking is available free of charge during Wolf Pack Welcome in both the West Road and Freret Street Garages. Both garages will also have an unloading zone available on the first floor for you to move your items.

Parents and family members can assist students in moving into their residence hall during the week of the 17thIn the past, parent and family members have left campus once the welcome begins for students at 3:30pm, as Wolf Pack Weekend is for incoming students only.

Below are the virtual events that will be taking place during Wolf Pack Welcome. These are open to all first years! 

  • Friday, August 21, 2 p.m. – Fr. Justin Daffron, S.J., Vice President for Mission and Identity, will host a “virtual krewe” of students who would like to participate in New Student Convocation online as part of Wolf Pack Welcome. 
  • Friday, August 21, 9 p.m. – Trivia with the student organization, the Brain Exercise Initiative 

  • Saturday, August 22, 8 p.m. – Kahoot Trivia with the student organization, Loyola University Community Action Program

  • Saturday, August 22, 8 p.m. – Movie Night with the Student Government Association

  • Sunday, August 23, 9 p.m. - Livestream of Student Mass in Holy Name of Jesus Church

The week before school starts, August 17-21, is also the perfect opportunity to meet with various campus departments to get your questions answered.
