Student Health Insurance (International)

International Students – LewerMark Insurance

F-1 and J-1 status

International students (F-1 and J-1 status) are required to have insurance and will be automatically enrolled in the LewerMark student health insurance plan. This plan is specifically designed to meet the needs of international students.

Important information about your health plan:

  • The health insurance fee automatically appears on your tuition bill.
  • You must have existing, comparable coverage in order to waive the LewerMark plan.
  • You must complete the waiver questionnaire by the deadline listed below in order to receive a full refund on your bill. After this date, LewerMark will not accept any waivers, and you will have to pay the insurance charge on your student bill.
  • You must complete the waiver process annually. Even if you are approved for a waiver for one year, you will have to submit proof of comparable insurance coverage every academic year to maintain the waiver.
  • The waiver request must be reviewed and approved by LewerMark before the charge will be removed.

With the LewerMark Student Health plan, you get:

  • Access to a nationwide network of doctors, hospitals, and specialists
  • Pharmacy and prescription drug coverage
  • Free emergency assistance, nurse line, and Teladoc available 24/7
  • Free 24/7 access to International Student Support Program and the My SSP app

Important dates and deadlines:

  • Fall waiver deadline: July 31
  • Spring waiver deadline: November 30
