Laura Dickinson, LCSW is assistant director for the University Counseling Center. Laura received her Masters in Social Work from Tulane University. She has previously worked as a volunteer crisis counselor for the Crisis Intervention Center and National Suicide Prevention Hotline and has experience in crisis intervention and suicide prevention education. Laura’s therapeutic approach is largely informed by behavior oriented therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her areas of interest include crisis intervention, anxiety, depression, survivors of sexual assault, and issues related to body image.
