Short Bio

Marco Polo was born in Ecuador but raised in New Jersey. He is a two time graduate from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communications and his Master’s Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education. While at Marquette, he was involved with Colleges Against Cancer, Sigma Phi Epsilon, New Student Orientation, and residence life. He is a proud Marquette alum, especially during college basketball season! Marco is thrilled to continue his student affairs journey at Loyola as a Community Director. He is excited to learn and work collaboratively with Loyola students, staff, faculty, and community members. He hopes to provide inclusive spaces which are welcoming and respectful to all identities of the communities of Loyola, New Orleans and beyond. His philosophy, guided by cura personalis and AMDG, is to ensure everyone feels heard, seen and valued.

Marco is a proud dog parent of "Magis", a cocker spaniel mix, who also lives in Carrollton with him! In his spare time he likes to read and watch basically anything that is related to aviation. If you have a minute, ask him about his love for planes! He  loves personality inventories and is a firm advocate of his number one strength, discipline. His top five strengths are discipline, developer, achiever, harmony and learner.
