Welcome to Iggy's Cupboard!

Iggy's Cupboard was opened November 13, 2018 as the official university pantry to address the issue of food insecurity on Loyola's campus among students, faculty, and staff. Our cupboard provides non-perishable food items and other essentials to any member of Loyola's community that may need a little help. The cupboard is operated by Student Life and Minsitry (SLM) and the Student Government Association. Located in the Lower Level of the Danna Student Center. 

Hours: Mon - Fri (9am to 10pm) and Sat - Sun (10am to 7pm)

Q. What is Iggy’s Cupboard?

A. Iggy’s Cupboard confidentially provides food and other essential items free of charge to any Loyola University New Orleans’ student, staff, and faculty that may need a little extra help.  

Q. Where is Iggy’s Cupboard? 

A. Danna Student Center Lower Level behind the SGA Hub and across from the Magis Lounge. 

Q. When is Iggy’s Cupboard open?

A. Iggy’s Cupboard is open Monday to Friday (9am - 10pm) and Saturday to Sunday (10am - 7pm). Hours and days of operation are subject to change due to scheduled university holidays.

Q. No one is in the cupboard or it is locked during normal business hours. What should I do?

A. Please go to the office assistant or the evening building manager seated at the front desk of the Student Life and Minsitry office located in the Lower Level of the Danna Student Center.

Q. Who can use Iggy’s Cupboard?

A. Any student, staff, or faculty of Loyola University New Orleans can use the cupboard.

Q. What kind of items are in Iggy’s Cupboard?

A. The cupboard is stocked with non-perishable food, hygiene items, and other essential items.

Q. Is Iggy’s Cupboard FREE of charge?

A. Yes. All resources in Iggy’s Cupboard are free of charge.

Q. Will my use of Iggy’s Cupboard be kept confidential?

A. Yes. All cupboard workers and volunteers will be trained on confidentiality and required to sign a confidentiality agreement to keep every cupboard guest’s identity confidential.

Q. Do I get to select my own items from Iggy's Cupboard?

A. Yes. You will get a shopping bag to fill upon entering. We ask that you place food items and non-food items in separate bags. When you are done shopping, you will need to weigh food items and non-food items separately to log in the received donations log book.

Q. How can I donate? 

A. Donations are accepted Monday to Friday (9am - 9pm) and Saturday to Sunday (11am - 5pm). Hours and days are subject to change due to scheduled university holidays. Monetary donations are accepted as well.

Q. What types of items can I donate to Iggy's Cupboard?

A. Please see above forthe list of items we accept. Please note that we cannot accept used, damaged, opened, expired, or perishable items.

Q. I would like to host a food drive for Iggy's Cupboard. Who do I contact?

A. You can email Heather Malveaux at hnmalvea@loyno.edu to get information on how to host a food drive. 

Q. I would like to volunteer in Iggy's Cupboard. Who do I contact?

A. You can email Heather Malveaux at hnmalvea@loyno.edu to apply to volunteer in the pantry. All volunteers will need to go through a training to become an official volunteer.
