Short Bio

Laura Coutts serves as a Career Coach for Loyola University students and alumni. She is responsible for providing individual and group career coaching covering career choice, resume preparation and development, job and internship search strategy, interviewing skills, and personal branding.
She grew up across the Mid-Atlantic (Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland), and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Richmond in International Studies with a concentration in Modern Europe and minors in French and Art History. Prior to moving to New Orleans, Laura worked in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia where she earned her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Student Affairs Practice.

Laura has previously taught at an outdoor school on the Chesapeake Bay and has experience leading personal and group-building exercises. With a wide array of educational and professional experiences, Laura enjoys working with students to focus on a field of study and to determine the first steps of a career path beyond life at Loyola. Outside of the office, she plays soccer regularly and enjoys spending time outside in New Orleans. She is looking forward to working with students and alumni to help them develop their job search skills and professional competencies.
